Welcome to the nicecissist blog.
A place for…
poetry and other thoughts…
when creativity strikes.
A haven to preserve and share my creations, eulogise ideas, develop insights, and express through the art of writing.
Wordplay Pathway;
For this, I have created and committed to the nicecissist ethos; exploring mental & physical, with curiosity, compassion & humility.
Wordplay is healing – a route to recovery, as; learning is a journey – a route to discovery. Be kind to yourself, and others – a simple oath – you’ll see the paving shines, on the pathway of growth.
If you’re reading this, thank you for your interest. It feels me with deep gratitude to get to share my compositions with you, and for you, in taking your time to read them.
My goal was to create an asset to draw on whilst navigating the complexities of living, attempting to find my way in the world and be a better, happier and more fulfilled person.
Since starting this blog, my focus has shifted from venting about my woes and worries, to celebrating the creative process.
For this, I am grateful.
Ive been writing poetry forever (with amateur efficiency).
In weaving my poems into the (very) loosely interconnected web of content I laid out for myself, I have been able to realise my “hobby” has been more than that – is more than that – it’s a passion.
I still muse on that thing everyone seems to fantasise about.
I know, I know, stop waving it around, right? We all have one – our shared experience, existence.
I see poetry in everything.
…now, I don’t just write poems when I’m sad.
I write for fun.
I will also celebrate my passions; adventure, travel, and outdoor pursuits, or anything I find useful and interesting, to help establish it in memory.
I might just do whatever feels right.
In doing so, actualise the threads in my mind and form some semblance of clarity (I hope), writing vividly when and if imagination permits, always with honesty – sensitive, vulnerable and unashamedly human.
What is life without community? I would love to connect with other nicecissists out there. Reach out, let me know what you think in the comments, and of course, give me a follow for more – nice!
