Poem

The door
that shut
framed your silhouette
cut
from fruits
naked as the bowl
once picked
juicy as the lips
once licked
the finger tips
that stripped, emotions
wrote you a love letter
wore the paper cut
the paper promises
that shut
the door.

A sensual beginning and then that cutting twist. I love this

Those paper cuts. They can be brutal. Much said in 44 words, Darius.

Great poem. I especially like how link paper cuts to “paper thin” promises.

Such precise images, and the paper cut and paper promises–so much in those words.

The progression and structure work so well to cut to the chase of your conclusion!

I love the progression in this – the leap from image to image, like stepping stones.

Love how you made the couplets into stepping stones… and maybe a path leading back to where it started. I read break-up from your words
